New look website

You may have noticed that the ABSP website is looking a bit different! Over the past few months, the site has had a thorough refresh to give it a cleaner, more modern appearance.

The main goal has been to tidy things up and make the site easier to read on all devices, whether you're browsing on a phone, tablet, or computer. Pages should now look cleaner and more consistent throughout.

Behind the scenes, the site has also been updated to work better with screen readers and other assistive technologies, which should make it more accessible for everyone.

The homepage has had a complete makeover, with information now organised into clearly labelled sections for tournaments, clubs, quizzes, and news. And yes, there's an animated "WELCOME" spelled out in Scrabble tiles at the top for just a bit of bling to brighten things up!

There's still some more tweaks on the way, so keep an eye out for updates.

If you spot anything that doesn't look right or doesn't work as expected, please do let us know.

Technical notes

For those interested: the site has been upgraded from Bootstrap 3 (dating from 2016) to Bootstrap 5, which is the toolkit that controls how web pages look and behave. This is a significant upgrade that improves mobile device support and removes the need for some older software libraries. A fair amount of very old out-of-date pages have been removed.
